You may not recognize Curtis King Jr. as a household name, but it's certain you've brought his voice home on your favorite top-40 albums across an astounding thirty-plus year career.
One of the most sought-after background singers and vocal arrangers in the world, Curtis has lent his voice to hundreds of gold and platinum recordings — and performed alongside Michael Jackson, David Bowie, Madonna, Céline Dion, Billy Joel, Patti LaBelle, James Brown, and Luciano Pavarotti.
Since 2009 he has stood on stage with Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band — bold and charismatic among ensembles of singers — most recently as part of the E Street Choir on the 2026 Land of Hope and Dreams tour. From Live-Aid in 1985 to Hyde Park in 2012, Curtis built a dream-come-true career on faith, humility, and craft.
When he isn't lending his voice to others, Curtis is at work on his own solo material — songwriting and recording that has already earned Grammy recognition, with new music still to come. After decades behind the mic, the voice you've always known is stepping out front.

The Solo Album
After more than three decades lending his voice to others, Curtis stepped into the spotlight with his long-awaited debut solo album, Changing Face (2017). Produced with Butch Jones of 825 Records, the album blends Afro-centric rhythms, jazz-inspired musicianship, and soulful storytelling into a sound shaped by a lifetime of songwriting. Featuring a collection of original songs, select covers, and an array of special guests, Changing Face is both a personal statement and a celebration of Curtis' musical journey.
